Maxxis'
Matlock Racing & Quad75Dezert Win at Baja
1000
Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 - Ensenada,
Baja Mexico - November 18, 2011
Suwanee, GA (11/30/2011) - Maxxis
riders topped the podium in two Pro ATV classes
at the grueling SCORE Baja 1000. Matlock Racing
won the overall and Class 25, and Brandon Brown
and Quad75Dezert won Class 24 in the race, held
November 17-20 in Ensenada, Baja, Mexico.
“Everyone rode smart all day long,”
Wayne Matlock told SCORE of his winning run with
fellow drivers Josh Caster and Wes Miller. “No
mistakes, and we didn't put a wrench on the bike
- just gas-and-go. The course was rough, [but]
that's what happens when you combine the San Felipe
250 and the Baja 500 together.” The Matlock
crew won the day, crossing the finish line with
a 17-minute lead.
Overcoming several challenges, Brown’s
team came roaring behind to take second place
overall and the top prize for Class 24. “We
went back and forth with Matlock all day until
a rock snuck up on Jamie Kirkpatrick and he wadded
up the bike,” Brown told SCORE. “Luckily,
it didn't hurt anything, and he isn't in too bad
of a shape…We want to come back and keep
on trying to win races. This was by far the roughest
and nastiest course I've seen so far.”
Both teams counted on Razr tires to take their
respective class championships in 2011.
Maxxis congratulates Wayne Matlock, Josh Caster
and Wes Miller of Matlock Racing and Brandon Brown
and Quad75Dezert on their victories and championships.
