Wimmer captured the Pro race victory and championship
in a nail-biter of a final round in the Maxxis New
England ATV-MX series. The last of the season’s
12 races was held October 9 in Minot, Maine.
At the start of Round 12, Wimmer was ten points
back in the race to the championship. When the
points leader was unable to finish Moto1 due to
a mechanical failure, Wimmer went on to take the
win. Wimmer finished second in Moto 2, earning
55 points for the day and taking the points lead.
Wimmer also won the Pro Am championship for 2011,
after going 2-2 in the Pro Am class at the final
round. Throughout the year, he relied on yellow-and-orange-label
Razr MX rears and Razr Cross fronts, and he praised
the tires’ performance after his final win:
“Maxxis tires hook up incredibly in any
conditions. I went through the whole season without
a flat. They have versatile compounds, and they’re
great for all riders.”
The Maxxis NEATV-MX series offered another great
season of ATV motocross racing. Maxxis congratulates
Dustin Wimmer on his Round 12 victory and on his
two championships. Maxxis is proud to support
NEATV-MX, and thanks all of its riders for choosing
Maxxis.
