Suwanee, GA (7/13/2011) - Dustin
Wimmer retained his points lead with second-place
podium finishes in both motos for the Pro and Pro
Am classes at Round 6 of the Maxxis New England
ATV Motocross series. The race was held July 10
in Minot, Maine.
In the first Pro moto, Wimmer was second through
the first turn behind Josh Creamer, and was able
to pass him in the second lap. The leaders battled
neck and neck for several laps. With just over
one lap to go, Creamer made a move to the inside
on Wimmer, and the two riders tangled. Wimmer
flipped and Creamer stalled, and Creamer was able
to get his bike started more quickly, crossing
the finish line first.
In the second Pro moto, Wimmer took the holeshot
and held the lead for several laps before Creamer
was able to take advantage of a slight mistake
of Wimmer's on an uphill section.
Wimmer was pleased with his Orange-Label Razr
MX rear tires and Razr Cross fronts: "The
tires really hooked up out there in the deep ruts,
and there was a bunch of choppy stuff out there.
They held together through a bunch of hardpack
stuff and they were real consistent. All in all,
the day went pretty good."
Maxxis congratulates Dustin Wimmer on his outstanding
performance and thanks him for choosing the brand
of champions.
