Suwanee, GA (9/28/2011) - A championship
would be enough for most riders, but not for Walker
Fowler. Now that he has locked up the GNCC’s
XC2 Pro Am ATV title, Fowler is gunning for the
series’ first-ever perfect season. The undefeated
Yamaha/Ballance Racing rider won his 10th straight
race on September 24 in Somerset, Pennsylvania.
As they have throughout the season, Fowler’s
Razr 2 front and Razr rear tires came through
for him on the rough and rocky course. He dominated
the XC2 class, crossing the finish line nearly
four minutes ahead of the next rider. “It’s
such a relief. Last year I was tied for the lead,
and I dwelled on it all winter, wondering what
I could have done differently, so I am definitely
excited,” he told ATVriders.com. “It
would be a first for a Pro Am or even Pro to have
a perfect season, and I really want to give that
to Yamaha/Ballance Racing in return for everything
they have done for me.”
Brian Wolf rode Maxxis to victory in the XC1
Pro class, his second win of the year. Fowler’s
teammate Taylor Kiser also did well, taking fourth
place in XC1 Pro, while points leader Chris Borich
earned fifth place.
Team UXC’s Cliff Beasley won the U2 class,
while teammate Michael Swift took the victory
in 4x4 Open. “It was really rough out there,
but I like the rough stuff, and I was able to
keep my lead,” said Swift. Traci Cecco took
her sixth win and tenth podium of the season in
the Women’s category. All three riders hold
the points lead in their respective classes.
