Suwanee, GA (5/17/2011) - Riders
on Maxxis were all over the podium in multiple classes
at Round 6 of the GNCC series, with Brian Wolf taking
his first-ever XC1 Pro win. The race was held May
14 in Gosport, Indiana.
With his Razr rear and Razr 2 front setup powering
him through thick mud and a mid-event rain storm,
Wolf made steady progress over the event’s
four laps. "I snuck by Ballance in one of
the fields. I sat behind McGill for about a half
a lap, and then he made a little mistake on a
hill climb. Then I sat behind McClure for two
laps, and he made a mistake and I got around him.
I never looked back after that," he said.
Chris Borich, who leads the XC1 Pro points race,
took second place in XC1 at Round 6. Taylor Kiser
took fourth, Donnie Ockerman grabbed sixth and
Bill Ballance nailed seventh. Kiser and Wolf are
fourth and fifth in the XC1 Pro standings.
The news in XC2 Pro Am was just as good for Maxxis,
with Walker Fowler taking the victory and Gabe
Phillips joining him on the podium in third place.
Fowler and Phillips are first and second in the
class.

Maxxis'
Riders swept the GNCC ATV Round 5 Morning
Overall Podium (left to right)
Traci Cecco (3rd) , Michael Swift (1st)
, Cliff Beasley (2nd) |
Also winning their classes and filling the morning
overall podium were Michael Swift in 4x4 Open,
Clifton Beasley in U2 and Traci Cecco in the Women’s
class. Swift, Beasley, and Cecco all lead their
respective classes in series points. Daryl Rath
was second in 4x4 Open and sixth overall in the
morning race, and is third overall in his class.
For Swift, careful planning paid off: “The
key to my win was spending a lot of time looking
at the track on Friday and having a plan if things
fell apart. I put my head down and kept moving
forward, and when I got to the bottlenecks I did
what I had to do to keep moving. I put my faith
in my machine and tires to get me through everything
I was putting in front of them.”
Maxxis congratulates Brian Wolf, Walker Fowler,
Michael Swift, Clifton Beasley and Tracy Cecco
on their victories and thanks all of its riders
for their outstanding performances.
