2nd Place aboard the Honda TRX700XX at rounds
1 & 2 of the AMA District 38 Series!

El Centro, CA (2/14/2009) -With
the first two AMA District 38 races now over, Honda
teammates Wayne Matlock and Josh Caster are looking
good in the point standings with first and second
place finishes at both races. The new Honda TRX700XX
is proving to be the ultimate desert racing machine
with commanding leads at both races.
1/25/09 Round #1 – AMA
District 38 – El Centro, CA: The high speed
course was 100 miles, consisting of four 25 mile
loops. With last minute mechanical problems, Matlock’s
quad wasn’t running 100% at the start of
the race. Caster got off to an early lead and
was able to hold off the other riders for the
entire race to finish in the #1 spot. Matlock
pushed hard and even with his mechanical problems
he took the 2nd place position mid race and held
it all the way to the finish. Both riders were
riding a Honda TRX700XX and their finish times
were well ahead of the 3rd place finisher.

2/8/09 Round #2 – AMA District
38 – El Centro, CA: This race was 5 laps around
a 22 mile fast loop with plenty of whoops, washes
and jumps. With teammates Wayne Matlock and Josh
Caster both looking for the win, this race was set
to be a good one. Off the start Caster got the holeshot
only to be passed by Matlock in the first turn.
The teammates continued to race side by side the
entire first lap with each rider holding the lead
for only minutes before the other rider would take
it back. Caster was able to finish just ahead of
Matlock on the first lap and gain some time on the
second lap. Both riders pushed the entire race and
Matlock made a hard charge on the last two laps
to finish just seconds behind Caster. The Honda
TRX700XX’s proved to once again be the ultimate
desert quad. Both riders finished a commanding distance
of, almost a lap ahead of the 3rd place finisher.
With both Honda teammates leading the points,
Matlock and Caster are looking forward to taking
their dominating TRX700XX’s to the next
race which is set to be on February 22nd. They
will once again battle it out during the solo
event early in the morning while later that afternoon
come together for the team event with both riders
racing together against the competition.
