Michael Coburn Takes the Pro ATV Win |
Sikeston, MO (1/11/2011) - The
time is almost here for the first showing of Quad
racing on prime time TV ! This is something that
anyone interested in quads should be a part of.
Whether you race quads, ride quads, hunt with
quads, or just have one in the driveway looking
good, you need to watch the show and send comments
afterwards. The quad and bike industry are under
heavy attack from the Government right now and
we need to show them (As well as the TV industry)
that we are many, we are strong, we want our toys,
we want our lands to ride on, and we will support
those that support us.
We are pumped for the upcoming show and the excitement
is steadily building. The details of the show
seem to change daily, but as of right now this
is the official announcement. First air date is
1-15-11 at 7:00 pm Eastern on "Lucas oil
on the edge" broadcast by Speed channel.
Although, this could change at any time so stay
posted to this website for any last minute changes.
The format for the show normally is to show two
or three different styles of racing per show.
However it was announced that the Quads were going
to get the full show. Unfortunately, that has
been changed back to splitting the show at this
time. It is suspected this is because of the holidays
cutting into the editing time to get the show
finished. No matter, for a company to even consider
changing their entire format to give quads the
whole show is a HUGE compliment. One that quad
riders should be proud of.
New Wave Productions, Lucas oil on the edge,
and Speed channel have done their part, it is
now time for you to do yours. You and this show
are critical in whether we step forward or step
backward in the quad industry.

Once it has aired, everyone needs to contact the
previous 3 mentioned and tell them you want more,
more, more! Be it phone call, email, snail mail,
or crayons and toilet paper; let them know we
are there to support those that support us. No
matter if the show turns out awesome or is a dud,
contact them and beg, plead, demand, scream for
more quad racing. It cannot be emphasized enough
how important it is do this after the show has
aired!
As for the race itself, what should have been
a total disaster turned out to be some of the
best racing seen in a very long time. The race
was put together in a matter of weeks with no
advance notice. No sanctioning body. No budget.
On a track to small for such a huge event. And
right at the beginning of the school year. Yet
racers and sponsors alike teamed up for one spectacular
event. TT racers, MX racers, GNCC racers, even
bike racers were there to pitch in, crawl on a
quad, and put on a show.
