Derek Guetter came back from his injury over 5 months ago to dominate the "friendly" freestyle event put on at Stateline MX park
Stateline MX Park, MN (8/17/2010) - Quad freestyle motocross has came a long way since the beginning. I remember growing up watching riders like Doug Gust and Sean Sermini hitting doubles on 250R's and I thought a no footed can can was the coolest thing in the world. Fast forward ten years and nobody had a dream of this sport becoming what it is today. Backflips combinations, seat grab variations, sold out venues and countless numbers of tricks are a few things riders have accomplished over the past few years.

Having been involved in the sport since the early years, I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing riders who I consider some of my best friends. I had the idea of bringing all of my friends back together to Stateline MX park for one night of intense freestyle action and an after party to catch up with old friends while making new ones. With everybody going their separate ways since we all started in 2004, it was really cool to bring the original crew back together.

Colten Moore - Polaris 450MXR ATV Jump
Colten Moore put on an impressive showing at the event as well taking home 2nd place overall
The event consisted of 14 professional riders hitting 3 metal freestyle ramps and 2 dirt doubles. The freestyle show was organized by myself with help from by winter X games bronze medalist Caleb Moore, freestyle pioneer Garret Engelstad, and world record breaking quad rider Jon Guetter. After the national anthem was sang, the riders were introduced one by one, which was followed up by 90 second group rides, jam sessions, synchronized tricks, mini bike freestyle and a best trick contest.

Although we had a few crashes during practice and one gnarly wreck from Devin Humphrey during the show, everyone was able to walk away with minimum injuries. Following the event was the long awaited premiere party of Akraix's Fallout Reloaded and Hbomb Film's Moore Huevos DVDs. It was a successful event, a great party and I hope to do it again in the future. Ride on.
