Wallkill, NY (4/26/2010)
- With light rain falling and
a muddy track, DRT/KTM’s Michael Pilotte
got his season started in style, pulling the Pro
moto holeshot on his KTM 450 SX ATV at Walden
MX in New York. Pilotte never looked back, checking
out and winning the Pro class in commanding fashion.
“I can’t say enough about Dave
Therrien from DRT Racing and KTM,” Pilotte
said after the victory. “DRT and KTM have
put together a really competitive bike to race
on this year. The quad handles and steers so
great and it’s so light and powerful I
feel like I can do whatever I want to do on
the track.
“After I pulled the holeshot I started
checking out. I’ve spent a lot of time
training in Florida over the off-season so I’m
in great racing shape. As long as I can stay
mostly mistake free, I hope to finish on the
box every round.”

In the Pro-Am race, Pilotte battled 15 other
riders and grinded his way to another holeshot.
“It wasn’t as clean of a start as
the Pro race,” team manager Therrien said,
“but he got out front and started to put
some distance between him and second place.
After getting his race bike together late Friday
night, we’re pleased with how he finished.”
