Joe Byrd
Quad Riding School's AMA ATV MX Season End Report
Union City, TN (9/11/2010) - The
final round of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championship
saw Joe Byrd Quad Racing School's Travis Moore
and Aaron Meyer finishing their season in the
top ten in the points chase with Moore taking
to the podium at Loretta Lynn's despite challenging
track conditions.
Heavy rain wreaked havoc on the Pro-am qualifiers
as deep mud and standing water covered the track,
but it did not deter Travis Moore from winning
his qualifying round. As the rain continued, the
decision was made to reduce the Pro and Pro-am
races to a one moto format, which seemed to suit
Moore just fine as he charged off the line and
fought hard to take the number three spot on the
podium when it was all over and claim a respectable
fourth place in the Pro-am Production points championship.
"I have to thank Joe Byrd Quad Riding School,
all of my sponsors and friends and family for
a very successful season," said Moore.
Aaron Meyer, who placed second in the Pro-am
Production qualifier encountered some mechanical
issues, due to the wet weather, that slowed him
down a bit, but did not stop him from finishing
in the top ten and taking sixth in the points
chase.
Dalton Millican took his first-ever Nationals
win at round eleven in the 450 A class, giving
him third in the year's end points. Millican also
ended his season in fourth in points in the Production
A class and is looking for a possible championship
next season.
Joe Byrd Quad Racing School's Women's class racer,
Adrienne Cooper, went 4-4 at Loretta's to finish
third overall for the day and lay claim to third
place in the points championship as well.
The foul weather did hinder the efforts of Joe
Byrd as he made his return after an injury at
round nine left him on the sidelines for round
ten. Byrd looked solid and strong, but he would
end up getting water in his motor, forcing him
to call it a day. "It's been a tough season
for me, but it makes me even more determined to
come back next season and win!" said Byrd,
who is eager to get another championship under
his belt.
"I want to thank all of my sponsors for
their support throughout the 2010 season. My team
had a good year and I am hoping for even more
success for the 2011 season," stated Byrd.
During the off season, Joe Byrd will be holding
several riding schools, in the states and abroad,
and he will be training hard in order to ensure
a strong performance for the 2011 season where
he will be competing for his third AMA ATV Motocross
Pro Championship.
