ATV MX Racer, Joe Byrd, Injured & Still Races
at Birch Creek
Union City, TN (5/5/2010) -
Despite a nasty crash just days before round three
of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championships, an
injured Joe Byrd still took on the challenge in
order to salvage points and show a never-quit
attitude that his sponsors have come to expect.
Just four days before he was supposed to be racing
at Birch Creek in Danville, VA, Joe Byrd suffered
a horrible wreck while practicing at his home
in Union City, TN that left him with three fractured
ribs in back and a couple of bruised ones in the
front. Although he was in a great deal of pain,
Byrd still managed to make his way around the
track and pick up a few extra points. "The
same thing has happened to me at about the same
time for the last three years. It's really frustrating
because I want to go out there and win. I have
to apologize to my sponsors for not being able
to go out there and put them on the podium,"
said Byrd disappointedly.
Over the next couple of weeks Joe Byrd will be
recovering and is hoping to be able to compete
at the next round that is scheduled for May 15th
- 16th at Sunset Ridge in Walnut, IL.
Joe Byrd would like to
thank all of his 2010 sponsors:
DASA, Walsh Racecraft,
IMS Products, Fly Racing, Hinson Racing, Precision,
Renthal, Tire Balls, Leatt, Tsubaki Chains, Powermadd,
StreamLine Performace Braking, Rath Racing, Web
