JB Off-Road's #5 Jarrod McClure placed fourth at the Mountaineer Run GNCC

Masontown, WV (7/1/2013) - The eighth round of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country series was held Saturday, June 15, in Masontown, West Virginia. The round was held at the Mountaineer Run track for the second time in GNCC history. The JB Off-Road Team put in some great laps to earn top finishes in their class. Jarrod McClure took fourth in XC1 Pro; Sam Williams earned second in 4x4 Open and Duck Lloyd finished third in Junior A 22+.

Jarrod McClure put in his best race of the season aboard his Can-Am DS450. McClure was in third on lap one, charging behind the leaders. He dropped to fifth on the second lap, but kept up his pace and was able to overtake fourth on lap four. McClure rode unchallenged in fourth until the checkers flew on lap five, which has McClure ranked sixth in the XC1 Pro Class.

Sam Williams was second off the line in the 4x4 Open class. He got passed before entering the woods, but quickly regained the second position. Williams worked to catch the class leader and was just a few seconds behind when he began experiencing issues with his hands. Once the issue worked out, Williams rallied and charged to catch up to the leader once again. Although he was unable to overtake the lead, he claimed a solid second place finish.

“The Outlander is working the best it ever has. It felt great all race! Once I get this issues worked out with my hands I’ll be up there battling for the lead,” said Williams after his race.

Duck Lloyd placed third at GNCC Round 8 on his JB Offroad Suzuki LTR450 ATV

In the Junior A 22+ class, Duck Lloyd earned another top finish. The young racer battled much of the race between second and third positions; on lap three Lloyd took over the lead in the class with plenty of pressure from behind. He kept up his pace, but dropped to second on lap four. Lloyd continued to battle through the gnarly rock sections and finished third in the class. Lloyd currently holds the lead in the Junior A 22+ points chase.

On the UTV side of things, the JB Off-Road Team was setting themselves up for a great race. Driver Kyle Chaney grabbed the holeshot and had the early lead in the class, before issues with his machine prevented him from continuing the race.

Tim Farr was in first place at the end of lap one in XC1 Modified, but also experienced problems and was unable to finish.
