JB Racing's Jarrod McClure Top 5 at Steele Creek GNCC
Duck Lloyd Continues to Dominate Junior A 22+ Class at Round 3

JB Racing / Cheerwine's Duck Lloyd earned is third consecutive win at Steele Creek GNCC in the Junior A 22+ Class

Morganton, NC (4/18/2013) – Round three of the Grand National Cross Country Series took place in Morganton, North Carolina and the JB Racing / Cheerwine Team had a very successful weekend. Jarrod McClure raced his Can-Am DS 450 to his second fifth place finish of the year. Duck Lloyd put his JB Racing Suzuki out front and snagged his third win in the Junior A 22+ class.

The #5, of Jarrod McClure was looking for success as he rolled to the starting line at round three. He had spent time in North Carolina with the team and had his new Can-Am set up just where he wanted it. McClure had a back of the pack start, but made quick work of the rest of the field and was in seventh as he went through scoring on lap one.

McClure put on a hard charge and battled with fellow racers for much of the race. He moved to fourth spot on lap three, but dropped to fifth on the next lap after getting caught in some lap traffic. He held the position for the remainder of the race and crossed the finish minutes of sixth position. McClure is currently ranked seventh in the XC1 – Pro Class.

“I am really happy with the adjustments we made to my set up. The Can-Am was working great and everything went pretty smooth during the race,” regarded McClure.

Duck Lloyd has taken his first year of GNCC racing by storm. Lloyd has swept each round in the Junior A 22+ class, and Steele Creek was no different. Lloyd got off the line dead last, but took over the lead midway into lap one. He continued his charge and took the win by 01:32.141.

“I love the GNCC. I had no idea how I would do; I’ve only been racing for four years and this was my first try at woods racing. I really don’t even know much about it, I just enjoy doing it. JB and Darin (Thomas) really help me out,” said Lloyd of his GNCC season.

Sam Williams placed sixth on his JB Racing Can-Am Outlander Utility ATV

In the 4x4 Open Class, Sam Williams, raced his Can-Am Outlander to a sixth place finish. Williams is currently ranked fourth in the class after taking third at the first two rounds and a sixth at round three.

The JB Racing / Cheerwine Team will be back in action this weekend at the Big Buck GNCC in Union, South Carolina. Jarrod McClure will be hunting for his first podium finish of the season while Duck Lloyd strives to keep his win streak intact.
