El Cajon, CA (8/21/2007) - It was another beautiful
day at Racetown 395 with temperatures hovering right around
100 degrees when the Factory iShock Team pulled in through
the gates to compete in round 2 of the SXS National Series
put on by M4SX. Factory iShock driver Regis “Andy”
Harrington came with one thing in mind; to win the Super
Stock Class that he was so ungraciously knocked out of
contention in round 1 by a modified driver that couldn’t
find a way by the Super Stock car driven by the phenom
Harrington. On this day, Andy would get in as much
practice as possible due to all the changes in the car
from the weeks prior. Thanks to the incredible support
and expertise of HRT Motorsports and continued support
of Black Rhino Performance there was a fuel cell added,
3” Simpson Racing harness’ and many other
changes that inherently would change the driving characteristics
of the 188 iShock car. “It without a doubt had
a different felling,” said Harrington as he explained
in more detail to his support Team lead by Mike Mattern.
With Mike working hand in hand with iShock’s Lead
Shock Technician John Cerveny, they were able to easily
utilize the external adjustment on the cars F-18 iShocks
to give Andy exactly what he was looking for. “John
from iShock knew exactly what to do with the shocks
from what I was telling him and got the car handling
exactly the way I like it whether it was blitzing the
whoops or hitting the big table top.” Andy went
on to say that “Aside from my suspension, my ITP
Holeshot tires gave me all the traction in the world,
which gives me the confidence to keep my speed through
the corners which is critical in the Super Stock class.”

Fresh off his responsibilities as a judge and announcer
at this years X Games, Andy said “It was just
good to compete again. I’m looking forward to
Round 3 of the series and am in the works to show up
and race the 188 iShock car at the 2 CORR events in
September.”
My success on the race track is a direct result of
the support I have through my sponsors. Thanks to iShock,
HRT Motorsports, Black Rhino Performance, Simpson Racing,
ITP, One Industries, Motoworld of El Cajon and Custom
Decal.
