Honda Announces 2009 ATV &
MUV Models
All-New Big Red 4x4, TRX420 Rancher

Honda Motor Companys Powersports Division announced
today its second release of 2009 motorcycle, ATV
and MUV products. This announcement follows the
earlier June release of information regarding
Honda’s 2009 small-displacement CRF off-road
bikes and Ruckus and Metropolitan scooters.

2009 Honda off-road
motorcycles, our complete line of ATVs and our
new MUV, Big Red,” said
Motorcycle Press Manager Bill Savino. We’re
especially excited to introduce
our all-new CRF450R that carries a load of innovative
technology, the new
TRX420AT Rancher with a revolutionary new Honda
automatic five-speed
transmission, Independent Rear Suspension, Electric
Power Steering and
more, plus a number of other new ATVs that incorporate
Electric Power Steering.
In addition, we have our 2009 Big Red Multipurpose
Utility Vehicle (MUV),
which recently received an enthusiastic welcome
from members of the press during
its new-model introduction.

The brand-new 2009 TRX420AT offers a host
of top-of-the-class features: a powerful
liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 420cc longitudinally
mounted engine, automatic/ESP five-speed
transmission, Electric Power Steering, independent
rear suspension, plus Honda’s selectable
4WD/2WD TraxLok® and rugged torque-sensitive
front differential. The new lightweight,
automatic transmission offers five-speed
auto-shifting or push-button manual shifting
with Honda’s Electric Shift Program.
After the heavy-duty centrifugal clutch
engages, two electronically controlled clutches
mounted in the gearbox upshift or downshift
to provide smooth, lurch-free gear changes.
When descending hills in automatic mode,
the transmission downshifts, providing excellent
