Brookpark, Ohio (3/10/2014)
- After waiting an entire off-season, the AMSOIL GNCC finally got underway in Florida on Saturday, March 8th, 2014. This year, HMF team riders stacked pro row with returning champion Chris Borich leading the charge.
2014 started out rough as this race was a wicked one. The track was a battling mud hole that played a big part in the outcome of this race. However, team riders Bithell and Borich showed their skills as the two went back and forth the entire race. Bithell led an impressive 4 out of 5 laps, demonstrating where he stands in this years line up.

However, the ever-sneaky Borich did his patented last-lap pass to pull in his 68th career victory, tying him with Barry Hawk for all-time win.
“It’s definitely pretty cool to tie Barry’s record for all-time wins!” Borich said. “The track was pretty brutal out there. It wasn’t the sandy whoops like we’re used to here in Florida, it was a lot of mud bogs everywhere but I just tried to be smooth, patient and stay out of the roost as much as possible to make the bike last.”
It’s a great start to the year, and Borich looks like he’s still got a grasp on this series. His off-season training seems to have made him better, and that’s only going to be tougher on the competition
