for 2008

Oil City, PA (11/26/2007)
- As factories are wrapping up their
team picks for next year, the announcement came
today that Rich Hetrick and Hetrick Racing have
signed a deal with Kawasaki to put together a
satellite team for the upcoming ’08 race
season.
“We spoke with Jimmy White at the last
WPSA race about putting together a satellite team
and after talking to him, he said yes.”
Stated Rich Hetrick. “We had talked to a
couple of other companies but we really liked
the Kawasaki and the way their program works.
We are very excited about this deal”
Hetrick Racing has been a long time supporter
of amateur racing and has established a stellar
reputation in the racing industry, which is part
of the reason this deal came about so easily for
Hetrick, not to mention that Hetrick and Kawasaki
share the same philosophy when it comes to building
a race team, that philosophy being, “We
don’t buy champions, we build champions”
as Kawasaki team manager Jimmy White put it.
“We wanted to broaden the horizons for
amateur racers and give them the opportunity to
excel. It was actually Kawasaki’s idea to
put together an amateur team and help mold them
and shape their careers. We are proud to be the
first company to work with amateur racers.”
Stated Rich enthusiastically. Kawasaki has always
had an interest in the amateur aspect of racing
as well, which makes the Hetrick/Kawasaki union
a perfect combination.
There are several other companies that will be
backing the team throughout the ’08 season
including Fox Shox, RPM, Cernics, Web Cams, CP
Pistons, and Pro Armor to name just a few. “Fox
was already working with most of our team riders
so we gave Fox a call and worked it out with them
to keep them in the picture.” Said Rich.
“We will also be working with Fuel ATV who
has designed a really cool intake system for us.”
Concluded Hetrick.

The team will consist of Pro-Am rider Mark Kendall,
Billy Cottage who will be racing both Pro-Am and
A class, and A class rider Jason Connell. There
will also be a support team consisting of seven
other riders that will be sponsored through Hetrick/Gabriel
Racing (HGR), which includes Pro rider Trent Kandel.
“We plan to come out and do our best next
year and hopefully win.” Stated Hetrick
who has a strong history of winning and has supported
many winning racers in the past, including John
Natalie, Jr. Hetrick Racing plans to continue
that trend with this new deal and give it their
all in the upcoming season.
