Lyburn, WV (9/13/2011) -For
a few days each October, the population of the

exponentially. The town plays host to Trailfest—a
unique celebration of ATV and dirt bike riding
organized by the
Hatfield-McCoy Trail Authority.
Trailfest has become the premier, off-road riding
event of the year. This
year, Trailfest will take place from October 6-10.
The event, now in its 11th year, cultivates a
great sense of community
amongst off-road riders. Most attendees are repeat
visitors to the
Hatfield-McCoy Trails (HMT) or to Trailfest itself.
The event draws
visitors from all 50 states and beyond.
“Trailfest is a distinctive event for the
off-road riding community,” says
HMT Executive Director Jeffrey Lusk. “People
not only get to ride the
trails, they get to connect with others who are
passionate about riding
too. We know that Trailfest participants have
a great time because they
keep coming back year after year.”
Trailfest participants can anticipate some serious
riding and
entertainment. The Hatfield-McCoy Trails are known
as some of the finest
trails in the country and they cater to every
skill level, from novice to
expert. Riders can also compete for cash and prizes
in the Fishers ATV Mud
Pit Run. Special guests for 2011 include: Fishers
ATV World, Dirt Trax TV,

About the Hatfield-McCoy
Trails:
The Hatfield-McCoy Trails were created by the
West Virginia legislature to
generate economic development through tourism
in nine southern West
Virginia counties. The system comprises more than
500 miles of off-road
trails in six systems scattered over southern
West Virginia. Each system is
open 365 days a year to ATVs, dirt bikes, select
utility vehicles (UTVs),
mountain bikes, horses, and hikers. The HMT were
formed with the
cooperation of private landowners, including coal,
timber and gas
companies. This unique public/private partnership
is recognized as a key
driver of economic growth in the region.
