A rough, sandy course awaited the team at Sand Hollow WORCS race in Hurricane, UT, but David Haagsma was ready as he charged off the start and grabbed the holeshot in the Pro ATV main event.

Haagsma did drop back a bit, but he kept going and was able to begin moving back up. “I got the holeshot, but a couple guys took some different lines and got out in front of me going into the off-road section. I just kept at it and was able to make some passes and get back into second,” said Haagsma.

Haagsma held his spot for a couple of laps, but came under fire after just a couple of laps. “Dillon Zimmerman caught me and got by, but I caught back up to him and got back into second. I am more of a high speed racer, and not that great at whoops, so I was pretty happy with taking a second place finish. My Sparks engine was awesome and got me the holeshot and my Maxxis Razr tires hooked up great and really helped me a lot out there in the sand,” said Haagsma.

Beau Baron was not quite as lucky as his teammate, however. Baron was looking strong, but encountered some issues out on the track and ended his day after just five laps. “I was in about fourth place and I found this great line to make up time and thought it would be on, but I came out of the pits and halfway through, I heard my engine pop and that was it,” Baron explained.

Luckily for Baron, the SxS Pro class went much better. “I got a good start and pulled a really good lead until I ran into lap traffic, which slowed my charge, and the last lap, I had to battle for the lead, but I was able to get by and hold that number one spot.

Thanks to the Sparks engine and Holz chassis for getting me to the finish line because everything worked awesome out there today. It was great to take that win and extend my points lead, because you never know what can happen,” said Baron.

David Haagsma started out off great in the SxS 1000 class. “I was second off the start and took the lead in the first lap,” he said.

Once out front, Haagsma began to pull away and had a nice lead going into the final lap, but his lead would not last. “I saw the white flag come out and I had a really good lead, but just going into that final lap, I ended up snapping both of my rear axles. I was far enough ahead that I was still able to finish in the top ten though,” Haagsma said.

Round four of the WORCS series dealt the H&M Team was mixed results, but they still came out with a first place the Pro SxS class along with a second place finish in the Pro ATV class, and are looking forward to round number five of the 2014 WORCS series, which will head to Ridgecrest, CA on May 9-11th where the team plans to dominate the podium.
