Hurricane, UT - (5/4/2014) - Two time Quad X champion, H&M Motorsports' David Haagsma took both moto wins at round three of the 2014 Yamaha Quad X series for the overall win at Competitive Edge MX in Hesperia, CA.

The track conditions were dry but rough and the course became mostly single lined after just a few motos. The conditions did not seem to matter to David Haagsma much as he was in second place off the start in the first moto and was immediately trying to find a way around the leader.

"The track was really single lined, and I followed Dustin Nelson for about half of the moto. We came to a 180 turn, and I was able to get underneath him and take the lead," said Haagsma, who held his lead all the way to the checkered flag for the moto one win.

Moto two went even better for Haagsma. The number one Honda shot off the start and grabbed the holeshot. Haagsma never looked back as he went on to lead from start to finish for the second moto win and the overall win for the day.

"I grabbed the holeshot and led from start to finish. I had a pretty big gap on everyone by the time I reached finish line. My Maxxis tires hooked up great, my suspension was flawless and my Sparks engine was running strong out there. It was a lot of fun and good practice for my trip to the east coast to race at Nationals," said Haagsma of his win.

David Haagsma will be heading to the east coast to try his luck at the 2014 AMA ATV Motocross Championships, with his first round being at the home track of current ATVMX champ, Chad Wienen at Sunset Ridge in Walnut, IL on May 31st. “I plan to do three rounds in a row, with the first one in Illinois. I am really looking forward to it. Those guys are really fast and I can’t wait to get out on the track with them. I am very excited about it,” said Haagsma.

First however, Haagsma will be racing at round number five of the WORCS series on May 9-11th where he is currently third in series points. David Haagsma will also be attending one more round of the Quad X series, which is scheduled for May 18th at the Ranch in Anza, CA.
