H&M Motorsports' Spring Creek ATV Motocross Report
David Haagsma & Beau Baron ATV Motocross

Bakersfield, CA (7/1/2014) - Maxxis/ H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma and Beau Baron both took top ten finishes at round six of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships at Spring Creek MX in Millville, MN this past weekend.

Spring Creek MX was one of the most challenging tracks on the circuit this season, with huge roller sections and uphill and downhill jumps in the Pro section, the Maxxis/H&M Motorsports team hard their work cut out for them.

In the first moto, David Haagsma, who had been feeling a bit under the weather, was inside the top ten off the start. Haagsma maintained eighth place for most of the moto and took it all the way to the finish line. “I was sleeping on the start a little bit, so I wasn’t where I wanted to be off the gate. It was a rough track, so I just tried to do my best out there,” said Haagsma of his moto one race.

For the second moto, Haagsma surprised everyone when he grabbed the holeshot and led for the first lap. “That was the start I should have got in the first moto,” stated Haagsma.

Haagsma was still leading going into the second lap, but he got hung up on a berm going into a turn and fell back. Haagsma stayed on the gas, but the rough conditions and not feeling well soon took their toll on him and he ended his second moto with a seventh place finish, which put him in 8th place overall.

“My Maxxis tires hooked up and I out-pulled everyone. Curtis Sparks builds a great engine and it got me out front. I just wish I could have held it, but I’m not feeling too well and I fell back. I really need to start training harder and race more nationals so I can get up there with the top guys and stay there, I won’t be able to make the next couple of rounds because of WORCS, but I will be at Loretta’s for the final,” said Haagsma.

Beau Baron put together two consistent motos for a ninth place overall. In the first moto, Baron was in tenth place going into the first lap. Baron stayed consistent and moved into the number nine spot at the midway point and held it all the way to the finish line.

For moto two, Baron was again in tenth place early in the race. A pass in the final three laps gave Baron another ninth place finish and allowed him to take home ninth overall.

The Maxxis/H&M Motorsports team will be heading back to the west coast where they will be competing in round six of the 2014 WORCs series in Cedar City, UT on July 11-13, where both  David Haagsma and Beau Baron plan to be on the podium.
