Bakersfield, CA (9/18/2012) -Beau Baron wins his second WORCS ATV Pro Championship aboard his H&M Motorsports / Maxxis Tires Honda. Baron grabbed the checkers in style with a 25.99 second lead to claim his fifth win of the season. Teammate David Haagsma joined Baron on the podium in the second spot for a 1-2 finish for the Maxxis / H&M Motorsports Team to wrap-up the 2012 WORCS racing season at Honolulu Hills MX.
The scalding temperatures proved no match for the H&M Motorsports duo as they pushed their ATV’s to the limit over the rough terrain of Honolulu Hills MX since the track was the closest to home for both racers at the WORCS season finale, and the pair was poised to finish out front on familiar terrain.

Baron felt confident as he took the starting gate at the Honolulu Hills MX in Taft, California, and when the gate dropped, Baron grabbed the holeshot after battling with Dustin Nelson in the first turn. Nelson went wide and Baron carved the inside with his Maxxis tires while staying on the gas allowing him to charge into the lead.
“My Sparks motor was pulling awesome. I was late off the gate, but with so much power was in first by the first turn” said Baron. Baron confidently held that lead for the rest of the race; he made consistently fast lap times and recorded the fastest lap-time of the race in lap three with a time of 08.47.123, and Baron virtually remained unchallenged for the entire race, and in the final laps of the race, Baron extended his lead to the thirty second mark over his teammate, Haagsma.
Baron only needed to avoid a DNF to wrap-up the WORCS Championship, but he wasn’t about to take it easy at his home track. “I wanted to finish this year on top to make a point” said Baron. Baron won the championship with a notable 187 points; that is an impressive 27 points over second spot of Josh Frederick. This is Baron’s second ATV Championship; his first was in 2009.

Haagsma’s second year on the pro line turned out to be a good one. He only finished off the podium three times and only once out of the top five. He secured second overall at Honolulu Hills. Haagsma had a solid start and was in the fourth spot after lap one The local, Bakersfield, California, racer picked off the rest of the pack and made passes when he could to boost him to second position by lap seven.
“Everything was working good, my Elka suspension, Maxxis tires, Curtis Sparks (motor), flex bars, all worked great” Regarded Haagsma about his Honda.
Haagsma’s impressive second place finish moved him within five points of Frederick in the Pro points chase with Haagma taking the number three plate for 2013 for a successful pro sophomore year in the WORCS series
Now that the 2012 WORCS series is in the history books, the Maxxis / H&M Motorsports team is now focused on the final three rounds of the Quad-X Series with Haagsma still within striking distance of the Pro Championship.
