                                  Bakersfield, CA (8/9/2012) - Maxxis
/ H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron extended
his points lead over the competition at round
number seven of the 2012 WORCS series while
David Haagsma claimed a solid fourth place finish.

Heat and dust were prevalent for this round
at Cahuilla Creek MX in Anza, CA, but that
didn’t stop Beau Baron from charging
his way to the podium for what would be his
fourth win of the season and extend his points
                                    lead by 18 points.
Baron was in second off the start and stayed
close to the leader for several laps. “It
was really tough to see and I knew I had to
stay close. There were a few times I came
up on some square edges and nearly went over
the bars, but I knew I had to stay as close
to the leader as possible if I was going to
                                    make a pass,” explained Baron.
Baron kept a fast and steady pace and recorded
the fastest lap time of the day in lap two
with a time of 8:31.592. It was Baron’s
blistering speed that gave him his opportunity
in the fifth lap to take the lead and to pull
                                    away or the win.
“That win gave me a bit of a cushion
in the points lead, so as long as things go
well and I can finish at the final round,
I can wrap up the title for the Maxxis/H&M
                                    Motorsports team,” said Baron.

                                  Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma
was in third off the start and held his position
for several laps despite the dusty conditions.
“I caught up to second place, but I
was eating a lot of dust so I couldn’t
really do anything and then I got passed me
so I just stayed in fourth and tried to stay
                                    consistent,” said Haagsma, who ended
                                    his day in fourth.
                                  Haagsma’s impressive performance all
season long has him sitting in third place
in series points going into the final round.
I feel pretty good about where I am and I
am hoping to end the season on the podium,”
                                    said Haagsma.
