                                  Bakersfield, CA (5/17/2012) -
It was an amazing weekend for the Maxxis / H&M
Motorsports’ team as Beau Baron and David
Haagsma went one and two on the Pro podium at
round number five of the 2012 WORCS series.

Racetown 395 in Adelanto, CA was the hosting
facility for this round. There was some added
intensity as the weather was incredibly hot
with temps pushing the 100 degree mark that
pushed racers to their limits. Due to the
heat, the track was very well watered in some
areas, but still dusty in others, providing
a mix of conditions, but it didn’t seem
to matter much either way to Maxxis / H&M
Motorsports’ Beau Baron as he charged
off the start, grabbing the holeshot and taking
                                    the lead.
Once Baron was out front, there was no stopping
him. Baron increased his lead with each lap
and recorded the fastest lap time of the race
in lap two with a time of 08:44.1. Baron’s
blistering pace kept him in the lead from
start to finish. Baron road unchallenged and
took home the win for his team by over 1:45ahead
of second place. Baron’s win, combined
with the “no drop” decision that
was made just before the race, has Baron in
the points lead at 115 points, giving him
a nine point lead over second place.

                                          Baron grabbed the ATVriders.com Pro

“I got out there and just tried to
distance myself from everyone. The heat was
really bad and I was really tired, but I just
pushed and pushed. I knew that with those
kinds of conditions I had to get a good lead,
because if I made a mistake, that lead could
be gone easily so I just kept going as fast
as I could. I really have to thank everyone
at H&M for helping me get through this
round and take the win, and I have to thank
Curtis Sparks for building such a great motor,”
                                    said Baron.
                                  Maxxis / H&M Motorsports’ David
Haagsma was right on Baron’s grab bar,
off the start, in the number two spot. Haagsma
stayed close to Baron for the first couple
of laps but fell back a bit. Haagsma was unchallenged
for a good part of the race until Josh Frederick
caught up to him and the pair battled back
and forth several times before Frederick ran
out of fuel. From then on it was pretty much
smooth sailing for Haagsma as he cruised to
                                    a second place finish.

“I had a great start right behind Beau
and then Josh started running me down. We
battled back and forth a few times but I got
back in second and put in some hard laps and
I’m happy to be on the podium. I really
have to thank Maxxis, H&M, my mom and
