Maxxis
/ H&M Motorsports Beau Baron took
the win at Speed World & was joined
on podium with teammate David Hagsma
in third & their ATV race team |
Bakersfield, CA (4/18/2012) -
The Maxxis/H&M Motorsports took to the podium
again at round number four of the 2012 WORCS
series with Beau Baron taking the win and David
Haagsma claiming third, allowing both racers
to close in on the points lead.
Although the weather was good at SpeedWorld
MX in Surprise, AZ, the track was quite wet
due to the diligent efforts of the track crew
as they tried to keep dust to a minimum. The
water did cause some slick spots on the hard
packed areas of the track, and made for a
slick start.
Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron
didn’t get the start he was looking
for due in part to the wet surface, but his
determination to win, more than made up for
it. Baron charged his way through the pack,
and by the fifth lap, he was chasing down
his teammate, David Haagsma, who was in the
lead. “I caught up to David and he was
really tough to pass, but he bobbled a little
bit and that was enough for me to get by,”
explained Baron.

After
starting in the back of the pack Beau
Baron made his way though the field
on his Curtis Sparks Honda 450R ATV
to gain the lead & the win |
Once out front, Baron began to distance himself
from the rest of the pack and increased his
lead with every lap. Baron also recorded that
fastest lap time of the race in lap eight
with a time of 10:32.013. By the final lap,
Baron had a 22 second lead over second place
and cruised to the checkered flag for his
second win of the season. “It was a
really good day today. I was really disappointed
at the last round because I was in the lead
and crashed, but taking the win today really
makes me feel a lot better and I’m happy
to be on top. I can’t thank H&M
Motorsports enough for everything they do
and Curtis Sparks for putting together such
an awesome engine,” said Baron.

Elka
Suspension's David Haagsma grabbed the
WORCS Pro Class Holeshot & placed
third at Speed World |
David Haagsma was on fire off the start as
he grabbed another holeshot for his team.
“The Curtis Sparks engine has so much
power; it’s been giving us great starts,
and the Maxxis Tires hooked up great out there,
even in the slick parts,” said Haagsma.
David Haagsma led for six laps before falling
back to second when he had to stop for fuel.
Haagsma gave an amazing effort and finished
in third, giving him the final spot on the
pro podium. “It was a good race for
us. I was on the podium again and that’s
right where I want to be,” he said.
Round number five of the 2012 WORCS series
heads to Racetown 395 in Adelanto, CA on May
11th – 12th where the Maxxis/H&M
Motorsports team will be going for another
win.
