                                  Bakersfield, CA (3/22/2012) -
Maxxis / H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma
took his best finish of the season so far at
round number three of the 2012 WORCS series
as he charged his way to the number two spot
on the podium, while teammate Beau Baron made
an incredible charge after a nasty crash early
in the race to finish in the top five.

Lake Havasu is one of the most grueling courses
in the WORCS series with its sandy soil that
grows increasingly rough with each lap. Those
rough conditions did not stop the Maxxis H&M
Motorsports team from conquering the unfavorable
conditions and make it to the podium.
                                  Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma
charged hard and was able to make his second
podium appearance of the season. Haagsma got
off to a slow start when his quad would not
kick over. “It took like three times
before it kicked over so I was one of the
last ones off the start,” Haagsma explained.
Despite the small set back, Haagsma quickly
caught up and was holding down the number
five spot by the end of the first lap. Haagsma
kept the forward momentum going and by lap
six, he was chasing down the leader. Haagsma
was able to get by the leader in the next
lap and led for two laps before coming under
fire from the competition and fell back to
second. The number 422 Honda was able to hold
his own quite well in the number two spot
and took it all the way to the checkered flag
for his second podium, and best finish of
                                    the season.

“It felt great to be on the podium
again. I had a good race and I led for a little
while. Havasu is always a tough race and I’m
just glad to be on the podium again. I have
to thank Maxxis, H&M Motorsports and everyone
who is supporting us this season and helping
us to be on the podium,” said Haagsma,
who is currently third in class points with
                                    60 points.

leading the Pro class but crashed over
a kicker. Baron finished fourth despite

                                  Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron
got a good start, as he came off the line
in third. Baron was able to take over first
place when the leaders got hung up in the
third turn. Baron began to pull a good lead
and was laying down some fast lap times, but
in the sixth lap, Baron crashed and fell to
the back of the pack. “I got out front
and I was pulling a gap and I hit a kicker
and there was another one right after it and
it flipped my quad,” Baron explained.
Baron was fortunate enough to be able to keep
racing and made an incredible charge in the
final laps. Baron worked back up to fourth
place and was closing in on third place, but
ran out of time before he could get close
enough to make a move, putting him in fourth
place for the day. Despite his bad luck, Baron
is still holding down second place in points.

“It was a little bit of a setback,
but I feel really good about the next round
coming up. I’m still really stoked about
the team and how well we are doing, and it
was great to see David up on the podium again
and I want both of us to be up there at Speed
                                    World,” said Baron.
Round number four of the 2012 WORCS series
will be heading to Speed World MX in Surprise,
