Maxxis
/ H&M Motorsports David Haagsma
took the overall win at Quad-X Round
6 & 7 |
Bakersfield, CA (7/20/2012) - Maxxis/H&M
Motorsports’ David Haagsma topped the
podium for rounds six and seven of the 2012
Yamaha Quad X series and closed in even more
on the points leader while Beau Baron claimed
second overall for round six and third at round
seven for the double header at Glen Helen Raceway.
There were a few track changes made to the
course at Glen Helen, including some new jumps
and some good berms, and those changes seemed
to suit the H&M Motorsports team well.
For round number six, David Haagsma was right
behind Beau Baron off the start and the team
dominated the top two positions for the entire
moto, with Haagsma finishing in second for
moto one. For moto two, it was Haagsma’s
turn to lead. Haagsma grabbed the holeshot
and led from start to finish for an easy moto
win, which also gave him the overall win for
the day. “I had a really good race in
both motos and I felt good out there. It was
a good day for our team and I am happy to
be on top of the podium,” said Haagsma.

6 & third overall in Round 7 |
Beau Baron was having a great run as well
for round six. Baron grabbed the holeshot
and led from start to finish, taking the moto
one win. For the second moto, Baron was in
the number two spot off the line and stayed
there for the entire moto, taking second at
the checkered flag and second overall for
the day. “I had a really good race.
In the second moto, I tried to get around
David but he was riding really good. David
won and I finished on the box so I am happy
for our team,” said Baron.
For round number seven, David Haagsma was
again on top of his game. Haagsma was in third
off the start and made his way into the number
two spot at about the mid-way point of the
race. Haagsma chased down the leader but ran
out of time before he could make a move. For
the second moto, Haagsma was on fire. He grabbed
the moto two holeshot and led from start to
finish, taking the moto two win and the overall.
“It was a good weekend for us. I want
to thank everyone at H&M Motorsports,
my parents, and all of our sponsors for their
support,” said Haagsma.
Beau Baron was also looking strong for round
seven and grabbed the moto one holeshot. Baron
led for a time before falling back and taking
a third place finish. For the second moto,
Baron was in third off the start and took
over the number two spot after a few laps.
Once in second, Baron began to chase down
his teammate, but ran out of time before he
could close the gap. “I had a good weekend
and I had a lot of fun out there. I really
want to thank Maxxis, H&M Motorsports,
Allan McCostlin; he really does so much for
us, and the rest of our sponsors for everything
they do for us,” said Baron.
Round number eight of the 2012 Yamaha Quad
X Series will head to Speedworld, AZ on September
29th where the Maxxis/H&M Motorsports
team will be going for the podium.
