After
taking the holeshot H&M Motorsports
rider David Haagsma held onto the lead
the first lap before dropping back to
fourth position before crossing the
finish line at Glen Helen |
Bakersfield, CA (9/27/2011) - H&M
/ MCR’s David Haagsma returned home after
a busy two weeks with Round 7 of the Yamaha
Quad Xross series in Arizona and Round 7 of
the WORCS series last weekend in Southern California
at the infamous Glen Helen Raceway.
In Arizona Haagsma would post a 3rd O/A
for the weekend with a 3-3 score in both motos.
Haagsma credits the solid weekend to one of
his sponsors Tire Balls for holding up the
rear flat in Moto 2 and keeping him in 3rd.
Last weekend Davi returned to one of his favorite
spots, Glen Helen. Haagsma wasted no time
by pulling holeshot with the Maxxis Razr tires
in Sunday’s main and leading the talented
Pro field around Glen Helen for lap 1.
“Curtis built me another rocket prior
to last weekend and the engine was solid and
got me out front. The track was rough and
I was actually really happy with my performance.
Running second and third for the entire race
was more than I expected to be honest”,
said Haagsma Tuesday afternoon.
Davi would battle back and forth between
2nd & 4th with Can-Am’s Warnia &
Frederick before giving up the spot to Yamaha’s
Dustin Nelson & Frederick on the last
lap. Haagsma would finish another 4th place
on the year keeping him close to Nelson for
the 4th O/A on the year.
“I made a mistake on the last lap that
bit me. We were coming down the back section
5th gear tapped and I was setting up for the
corner, but left the door open for Dustin.
He came in HOT and I had no choice but to
back out. He clipped me and I had to get dialed
back in. By then, Josh got around and all
I could do was run hard to the end to finish
strong. I want to say congrats to my teammate
Beau Baron who checked out early and closed
the points gap. My goal now is to run with
him and help him get these points on Jeremy
and Josh. Should be a great end to the season.”

Davi will head to Racetown (2 hours from the
house) on Oct. 22nd for Round 8 of the WORCS
