Bakersfield, CA (8/2/2010) - H&M/Monster
Energy/O'Neal’s Davi Haagmsa captured
his first ever WORCS Pro-AM Championship this
past weekend aboard his MCR/Maxxis/CSR tuned
Honda 450r. Haagsma who came into round 7,
47 points ahead, needed a win to clinch the
Championship giving him enough points to “point
out” the 2010 season and thats exactly
what he did. Davi grabbed the Holeshot Sunday
morning and lead every lap at the beautiful
Washington based “Straddleline ORV track”
which was enough to secure the Championship
for Mike Cafro and the MCR Racing team.
“I got the holeshot which is big up
hear because in Washington, you have a short
MX course then it goes single line for the
rest of the race pretty much. Getting out
front early was important and it was good
enough to keep the lead. Keith Johnson ran
a good race and kept me honest to the end.
My ATV was awesome today and I’m happy
to give Mike and the team their first Championship
for 2010”. Davi Haagsma
Haagsma who had a stellar year in the WORCS
series will make his Pro debut at Round #8
of the World Off-Road Championship series
at the famous Glen Helen Raceway, completing
a 4 man powerhouse for the MCR team. Haagmsa
will join his teammates- defending champ Beau
Baron, Team Manager Mike Cafro, and #5 plate
holder Josh Row on the starting gate Sunday
morning on Sept. 26th. Haagsma boarded a plain
Monday morning in Seattle and headed back
east where he will compete at Red Bud this
weekend at Round #10 of the AMA ATV Mx series.
Prior to Washington, Davi posted his best
moto finish at Unidilla in New York with a
4th in Moto 2 and posting a 9th O/A on the
day. Next stop for the H&M Motorsports
team, Red Bud this weekend, followed by Loretta
Lynn’s Ranch for the finals on August
15th.
Shout out: Team
Manager Allan McCostlin has done a great job
with the new team and the direction with Haagsma
in both AMA & the WORCS series. Week in
and week out, both Davi and Allan put in a
tremendous amount of effort and with that
comes Championships as this past weekend proved.
