Rules & Details Released on "IronMan" SidexSide/UTV GNCC Race
Round 13 - Crawfordsville, IN - IronMan GNCC

Yamaha's 2008 Rhino 700 EFI UTV
Yamaha's 2008 Rhino 700 EFI UTV
Morgantown, WV (10/19/2007) - Here's the latest on the debut race for the big machines next weekend at the Ironman.

Four classes:

0-700 cc Limited (Stock, allows for changes to tires, wheels, bumpers and skid plates, air box and exhaust. No suspension or internal motor mods allowed—no motor mods besides airbox/filter and exhaust)

0-700cc Modified (Run what you brung, just keep it under 700cc)

701-850cc Limited (Stock, allows for changes to tires, wheels, bumpers and skid plates, air box and exhaust. No suspension or internal motor mods allowed—no motor mods besides airbox/filter and exhaust)

701-850cc Modified (Run what you brung, just keep it between 700 and 850cc)

We are aware that ignition mods are big on the Rhinos to get more speed. We're not sure if they belong in the Limited or Mod class or not. Help us out and let us know what you think.

All classes require a driver and passenger, but we will not switch drivers during the race. Whoever starts the race driving will finish it driving.

Starts will be dead engine.

Seatbelts and roll cages are required on all vehicles (no Gators)

No golf carts.

Polaris' 2008 Ranger RZR Side by Side
UTV's such as Polaris' 2008 Ranger RZR Side by Side will be allowed to compete in the final round of the GNCC Series

Foot restraints or doors are required on all machines.

Feel free to wear a Halloween costume during the race—remember this is for fun!

We're doing our best to develop a real GNCC-style course with trees, hills and mud. Remember, narrower is better for that type of terrain, although we should be able to fit Rhinos with extended A-arms and revised tire/wheel packages. You'll lose some mobility for sure, though!

We are awaiting a ruling on a possible age minimum for participants.

The entry fee per machine is the traditional $40 (so split that between driver and passenger and race cheap!)

That's it for now. Good luck next weekend
