Maxxis Tire’s Chris Bithell Podiums at Snowshoe GNCC

Irwin, PA (7/2/2013) - Chris Bithell put his Reliable Tool Supply / Maxxis Tires Suzuki LTR 450 on the podium for the sixth time this season. Bithell put in a great come back ride to put the #4 in the final podium position at the ninth round of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series in Snowshoe, West Virginia.
Bithell started on the first row of the live engine, black top start. He headed into the woods with the leaders, but came through the pro pits several seconds down and in seventh position on the first lap. Another racer had got stuck in front of him and set him back several positions. Bithell charged and moved into sixth on lap two.
“A few laps in I knew I had to go or it was over. I had a rough start getting stuck and everything, but my second wind came along and I was really able to put the Suzuki to work,” said Bithell.
Bithell continued to move up one position a lap until he took over the third spot on lap five. He remained in third for the remainder of the unique seven lap race. He crossed the finish 02:34.937 ahead of fourth position.
“This race was great. The fans were awesome, this is a massive place and there were just people everywhere. My Suzuki was working amazing and aside from a few hang ups I didn’t have any issues. I am happy with how it worked out, because you just never know how it’s going to go on this mountain,” regarded Bithell.
Bithell is currently ranked third in both XC1 Pro points and overall points. The next round of GNCC racing will be September 7 at Unadilla in New Berlin, NY. Bithell will be back in action looking to take his first win of the season.
