Morgantown, WV (9/5/2012) -While racing at Pyramid Valley motocross track in Mt Clare, WV, the GNCC Pro-Am ATV Racer, # 11 Gabe Phillips, crashed on his Yamaha YFZ450. Phillips has been having a roller coaster of a GNCC season and this is the largest set back yet. Gabe was riding his second moto of the day when the accident occurred.
“I remember hitting a double and the front end dropped out and slammed me down. I don’t remember much else; everyone said it was the worse wreck they had ever seen at Pyramid. It wasn’t fun,” said Phillips.
Phillips is currently in Clarksburg Hospital with 6 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a bruised lung, a broken collar bone and a bruised ear. The doctors have said it will be at least three months before he can ride again; it will all depend on how well his body heals.
Gabe would like to thank his sponsors for all their support this year including Greg’s ATV, Waynesburg Yamaha, Custom Axis, Maxxis, Motoworks and Fly Racing Gear.
We wish Gabe Phillips a speedy recovery!
