Racing - Round 8 - Snowshoe, WV- June 25, 2011
Morgantown, WV (6/22/2011) -The
9th Annual Friends of Coal GNCC Golf Tournament
will take place this Friday, June 24 as a part
of the Motosport.com Snowshoe GNCC event. Friends
of Coal has stepped up this year as the title
sponsor of the golf tournament, in which all proceeds
benefit the Brain Injury Research Institute at
West Virginia University in Morgantown, W. Va.
"We are honored to be a part of the 2011
Snowshoe GNCC," said Bill Rainy, Executive
Director of West Virginia Coal Association. "It
is fitting that this race happens in the center
of the Appalachian region, in which the coal industry
is a major employer here in West Virginia,"
Rainy added.
This year's Friends of Coal GNCC Golf Tournament
will once again take place at the Raven Golf Club
on Snowshoe Mountain. Registration begins at 7:30
a.m. and tee time will follow at 9 a.m.
"Racer Productions is honored to have Friends
of Coal as the newest member to the family. There
is no doubt that GNCCers by nature are blue-collar
workers, and nothing is more blue-collar than
mining coal," said Event Director Tim Cotter.
Spectator passes run $20 for the full weekend,
with pro pit access and pro autographs at no additional
charge. On both Saturday and Sunday, youth riders
race at 8 a.m., beginner riders race at 10 a.m.,
and the top amateurs and the pros race at 1 p.m.
