Borich
& Kiser Lead ATV XC1 Pack to Acerbis Loretta
Lynn GNCC
Hurricane Mills, TN (4/23/2010)
- Defending GNCC Champion Chris Borich
has met a tough match in Yamaha's Taylor Kiser
as the 2010 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country
series rolls into Hurricane Mills, Tennessee for
round five of the series, The Acerbis Loretta
Lynn GNCC, held at the famed singer's ranch.
While Borich has been able to take three wins
to Kiser's one this season, Kiser has shown his
most consistent results to date by challenging
Borich each round to land in second. Kiser improved
dramatically in the 2009 season, and it looks
like he has made further leaps in his skill, making
the battle between the two top XC1 riders a thrilling
show each round. Now, the two also have to contend
with Warnert Can-Am's Adam McGill, who recovered
after problems in North Carolina to land on the
podium in South Carolina at the last round. McGill
switched teams and was able to stay with the top
riders while working on his new ride. Once McGill
gets the kinks worked out in his program, he will
be gunning for his first win since 2008.
FRE KTM's Bryan Cook is another rider who has
switched teams since last season while still keeping
with consistent results. Cook has improved each
round, and is now on the cusp of getting on the
podium, with two fourth place finishes the past
two rounds. Also in contention in Tennessee is
Yamaha rider Jeffrey Pickens, Warnert Can-Am's
Chris Bithell, Yamaha's Don Ockerman and Johnny
Gallagher and National Guard/Yokley Racing/Polaris
rider Jarrod McClure.
In the XC2 class, HMF's Brian Wolf is leading
the charge while trading wins with XC2 rookie
Walker Fowler. Kevin Yoho is also making his way
to the top of the pack, and even though FRE KTM's
rider has seen some disappointing rides, he's
still hanging tough in the points while looking
for his first win of the season. The XC2 class
is shaping up to be highly competitive with the
likes of Parker Jones, Gabe Phillips, Dustin Canipe
and Blake Kramer making their way into the top
5 riders.
GNCC racing includes a full weekend of action,
with the pro classes racing at 1 p.m. The 10 a.m.
race includes 4x4 and Utility racers, and the
factory-supported stars of the women's class.
Youth riders race at 8 a.m., and the schedule
repeats the next day with bike racing. Spectator

pit access and pro autographs at no additional
