(12/13/06) –
I invented the GearHanger out of true necessity. We purchased a Toy Hauler
several months ago, and the only place to store
our helmets, where they wouldn’t roll around during
transportation, were in cabinets.
We can always use cabinet storage space,
so this wasn’t the best option. I looked at the
rear bunk bed and how it stores up and out of
the way. I thought “there has to be something
better”. The GearHanger is born.
I installed four GearHangers on the rear bunk of our hauler. Now, when
we camp our helmets are organized and neatly
stored. When we are driving, the bunk goes up
and the helmets are secured for transportation.
The GearHanger also works well with the bunk
ladder, keeping it up off the floor and within
arm’s reach of the person sleeping in the bunk.
I have developed an installation kit that allows
easy removal of the GearHanger when not in use.
Additional installation kits are available for
purchase separately so you can use one GearHanger
in different locations.
I have used and tested the GearHanger in my hauler, and the results
are outstanding. We have driven hundreds of
miles, both on and off-road, and our helmets
stayed safely in place. We now have cabinet
space for stuff that belongs in cabinets. We
have priced the GearHanger at $21.99 on our
website, plus S&H. The extra installation kit
is $3.99, plus S&H.
Although designed with Toy Haulers in mind, the GearHanger will
work on any flat surface in RVs, garages, enclosed
trailers, anywhere there is gear needing to
be stored.
