                                  GNCC - Round 5 - Park City, KY - April 28, 2012
Anaheim, CA (5/9/2012) - GBC Motorsports
enjoyed a busy but successful weekend of racing
as their GNCC riders earned 5 class wins and even
more podium appearances in the fifth round of the
season. A few hundred miles south, Brit Mansel fought
through some adverse conditions on his way to an
overall third round victory in the UTV Rally Raid
                              Series.

Motorsports Race Rex ATV Tires | The GNCC track crew threw everything they could
at the participants in the inaugural running of
the Park Mammoth GNCC in Park City, KY, building
what was described as an “old school technical
layout.” When all was said and done five
GBC Motorsports riders rose to the top of their
respective classes and numerous others had impressive
finishes. Bryan Cook is making it clear that although he
is only contesting a part-time schedule this season
he is still very serious about his results. His
second straight top-5 XC1 and Overall finish came
on the strength of a solid start and impressive
early effort that had him mixing it up with the
leaders of the race. Despite plans to take the
next few rounds off, expect Bryan to be a contender
upon his scheduled return to action at Snowshoe
Mountain on June 23rd. Sophomore XC1 racer Kevin Yoho put up a solid
7th place finish on the day and continues his
climb through the rankings. Johnny Gallagher persevered
to an 8th place finish despite an injured knee
that placed him on crutches just days before the
event. His consistency has rewarded him with a
6th place overall in the current rankings. The DeRisi Racing’s Braden Henthorn once
again occupied the XC2 Pro Am podium. Henthorn
led much of the race before experiencing sever
blistering on his hands which forced him to slow
his pace, ultimately crossing the line in 3rd.
He is currently in 3rd in the standings as well. Bryan Buckhannon and Forrest Whorton started
things off right in the morning race, both leading
every lap on the way to class wins. Both riders
sit atop their class in the points chase, with
four wins each in the first five races. Bryan
Buckhannon is thrilled with his success so far
in 2012, saying, “Everything is going great.
We are happy to be winning races and having the
points lead is nice, too. The GBC tires are working
great, and we are looking forward to the races
that are coming up.” Rob Smith had a spirited
battle over the top spot in the U2 class, eventually
settling for 2nd. Pro Women rider Kylie Ahart finished 4th for
the third consecutive race, holding on the 3rd
spot in the standings. Ashley Barbee added to
the win column for GBC Motorsports by earning
her first Women Amateur win of 2012. In the other afternoon races young gun Jay Shadron
kept his perfect season alive with his fifth consecutive
win over fellow GBC rider Kevin McKeown, who finished
2nd. Shadron and McKeown also own the two top
spots in the College B class standings. David
Reeves extended his points lead in the Junior
A class with his 3rd win of 2012. GNCC action returns on May 12th and 13th in Springville,
Indiana for the Limestone 100. Brit Mansel of Octane Media Wins UTV Rally RaidJust around the corner in Cullman, Alabama, UTV
racer Brit Mansel tackled Round 3 of the UTV Rally
Raid Series at Stoney Lonesome Park. Despite the
dry and dusty conditions, Mansel managed to pilot
the Octane Media Race Team to an Overall 1st place
finish and boasted the fastest lap on the day.
“All in all, the race went exactly as we
had hoped,” Mansel wrote. “The car
held up perfect and the GBC Dirt Commanders and
HiPer wheels kept the power to the ground in the
very slick, dusty conditions.” The next UTV Rally Raid round will be on May
26th at Stoney Lonesome. For more information on GBC Motorsports and their
