Ontario, CA (6/1/2011) - GBC Motorsports’
Kristen Atwell and Bryan Cook grabbed the holeshot
with GBC Tires in their respective classes this
past weekend at round number six of the 2011 GNCC
series.
The treacherous and rocky terrain really put
GBC Tires to the test at Rock Run in Patton, PA,
and they passed with fly colors as Kristen Atwell
shot off the line in the Women’s class,
grabbing the holeshot. Atwell led briefly and
stayed strong to finish second in her class and
third on the morning podium. Atwell is currently
in third in the points chase and is only a couple
of points within striking distance of second place.

In the afternoon XC1 Pro class, Bryan Cook grabbed
the holeshot with his GBC Tires. Cook was looking
strong and looked as if he could have a shot at
the podium as he was leading going into the second
lap, but a clutch issue got in the way of his
efforts.
GBC motorsport’s Johnny Gallagher looked
good as he came off the start in the top ten and
put in a hard charge. Gallagher worked his way
up from tenth place in lap one to finish in a
very respectable sixth place. This is Gallagher’s
second sixth place finish this season and his
best time so far this year as he finished with
a 01:55:56.

Pickens placed ninth in the XC1 Class dispite
a nasty crash |
Jeff Pickens was in second off the start right
behind Bryan Cook. Pickens was looking strong
and consistent but in the second lap, the rocky
terrain got the best of him and Pickens would
end up crashing. Luckily he was not hurt and continued
to race and ended his day in ninth place.
Round number seven of the 2011 GNCC series will
be heading to Snowshoe, WV on June 25th. The Snowshoe
round in known as one of the toughest rounds of
the year and will certainly be a challenge for
racers, but with the help of GBC’s tires
Kristen Atwell will be looking for another podium.
