Racers Take 2 Podium Finishes at Big Buck GNCC

Long Beach, CA (3/18/2011) - Kristen
Atwell would kick off a great weekend for GBC racers
as she propelled her Yamaha to the podium by taking
second in the Women's class and third overall. Atwell
charged off the line taking the holeshot and would
run in contention the entire race, battling hard
with eventual winner Lexie Coulter. Kristen's finish
has her fourth in points and marks her second visit
to the podium this season.
The afternoon program would see the warmest temperatures
yet this season as the thermometer climbed well
into the 80's. GBC racer Bryan Cook had been battling
an illness all week and would have his hands full
competing however would garner a stellar top five
finish! Cook, exhausted and battered, crossed
the finish line taking the 5th spot. Fighting
dehydration and illness, Cook persevered and claimed
his best finish since the opening round.

GBC's Jeff
Pickens placed his season best finish
aboard his Yamaha YFZ450 ATV

Jeff Pickens had made some serious changes for
this round, switching back to an older model of
Yamaha's YFZ450. Pickens has been battling set
up issues and injury and was hoping returning
to his proven set up would help get him back in
the fight. Jeff rode well and would finish eighth,
posting his best finish thus far in the 2011 season.
GBC teammate Johnny Gallagher would run into issues
on the first lap and would suffer his worst race
yet this season and was unable to complete the
event. Gallagher will rebound and with Pickens
on a comfortable set up, we look forward to seeing
what they bring to round five!

Eric Hoyland
took his third podium finish with GBC
Tires this season in the XC2 class at
Big Buck in Union, SC

In XC2 Pro Am, Eric Hoyland would find the podium
for the third time this season as he grabbed his
third, third place finish of the season. Eric
had his Honda dialed in and was charging right
from the start as he battled his way to the front
and the podium. Hoyland is dedicated and focused
and we expect to see him allot on the podium this
season as he is a favored XC2 racer to be upfront
when the checkered flag drops!
The series heads to the world famous Loretta
Lynn's Ranch on April 30th which features a mix
of terrain that should suit our riders well. We
would like to thank all of our racers for their
hard work and dedication and look forward to seeing
them in action at the next round!
