Long Beach, CA (3/16/2011) - Round
two of the Can-Am GNCC Series would pit our GBC
racers once again against the best cross country
racers in the world along with a varying terrain
that the Aonia Pass, Georgia track is well known
for.
GBC’s Bryan Cook catapulted off the line
with his GBC Ground Buster II tires to grab the
XC1 Pro ATV Holeshot. Cook’s charge was
slowed when his chain derailed, but he still held
on to claim the eighth spot.

Johnny Gallagher would pass Cook and put his
mud racing skills to the test as he pushed hard
during the two hour race to finish his day in
the sixth position. This marks Gallagher's second
top ten finish as he is off to a great start to
the 2011 season! Jeff Pickens would still be suffering
from a leg injury and would manage to press on
finishing his day in eleventh.

In the morning amateur event, Kristen Atwell
would grab the Holeshot in the premier Women's
class with her X Rex GBC tires. Atwell would have
her hands full as she battled the entire race
on a track that soon had a few sections that proved
to be a real challenge. Deep ruts and bottlenecks
would sort out the field of racers on a very fast
track that allowed little in the way of making
up time. Atwell would complete the event taking
third in the Women’s Class and sixth overall.

In the 4x4
Open Class, Rick Cecco faced a broken
transmission that put him out of the race
for round 2
|
In the 4x4 Open class, Rick Cecco would be looking
to better his second place finish at the opening
round. A broken transmission would take Cecco
out of contention this round however, setting
up a situation were by Cecco will be forced to
push his equipment and himself even harder in
the coming rounds to gain valuable points and
get back to the top of the class.
Our GBC racers will get some needed time off
as round three is separated by a two week hiatus
that should allow blisters to heal and broken
parts to be replaced. Round three heads to Morganton,
North Carolina on March 26th as our racers once
again will be battling for the win!
