GBC Motorsports Racers Podium at Mountain Ridge GNCC
Mountain Ridge GNCC - Round 7 - Somerset, PA - May 22, 2010

Long Beach, CA (5/27/2010) - GBC racers found success at Round 7 of the Can Am GNCC Series on one of the most unforgiving tracks of the season. The morning race would see Rick Cecco claim the third position overall and Zach Zachowski would join Cecco on the podium as he claimed second overall.

For Cecco, running near the front of 4x4 Open all day was right where he needed to be but he managed to sink his Can Am in a deep hole and had to work his way back to the front. Zachowski would find himself in second place and the pair followed each other to the checkered flags.

The GBC Pro racers would not catch a break as the rain fell periodically throughout the event turning an already brutal course into a race of survival. Jeff Pickens would grab traction off the line and out of the first corner to secure the XC1 Pro holeshot and lead the first lap. Pickens would battle the entire event and find himself in 8th when the checkered flag waved.

XC1 Pro Johnny Gallagher would be in his element as the conditions worsened. Gallagher would once again find himself inside the top ten when the race ended, taking home the sixth position.

Massive rock gardens made extremely hazardous by the falling rain were only a few of the obstacles our racers would face. At the end of the day, GBC Motorsport riders would see the podium in both morning and afternoon events as Jeff Pickens was awarded the Holeshot award.

The next round for our racers will have them in Ohio as the "John Penton" is scheduled to be run on June 5th in Millfield Ohio. This is classic cross country racing terrain and you can count on our riders being ready!
