Long Beach, CA (9/18/2010) - GBC
Motorsports continued its dedication to our sport
by being one of the title sponsors for this year’s
"King of the Mountain" SxS and ATV Round-Up
held at the Brimstone recreation area near Huntsville
Tennessee. The event would draw thousands of people
all aimed at having a great Labor day weekend on
the trails and catching all the action at a myriad
of events slated to provide plenty of entertainment
for those in attendance. GBC Motorsports would be
on hand to help customers, provided information
on our products and to support the sport as this
event continued to grow during its second year.
On Sunday, the event would feature the "King
of the Mountain" race, and our own sponsored
GNCC racer Scott Kilby would be on hand to try
and capture the win. Kilby quickly obtained the
lead and began to pull away from the field of
racers. The course was demanding, and the man
made obstacle course was just as brutal as racers
faced logs, rock sections and even a trip into
the mud pit as the laps racked up.

The course
laid out for the "King of The Mountain
Race" would present races with challenging
obstacles including several jumps &
fierce uphill sections

Kilby maintained a 3 minute lead for virtually the entire 2 hour event however,
with three laps remaining, would make contact with
a flipped ATV on a hill climb where by his rear
tire was sliced open by the metal snorkel sticking
out into the race course. Kilby fought hard with
the tire going down and in the very last section
of track would be passed by Denny Carson who raced
to the checkered flag for the win. Kilby stated
after the race that the 5 mile course had some of
the most severe hills he had ever encountered racing
and that the event indeed was a challenge.
The weekend would be a huge success and we are
proud to have been part of all the action and
fun. GBC Motorsports would like to thank all those
who attended this event and allowed us the time
to discuss and show our products and we enjoyed
meeting so many who put our products to the test
every weekend!
