Long Beach, CA (8/29/2010) - GBC
Tires proved they have what it takes to withstand
the rigors of endurance racing as the Zakowski Motorsports
team took top honors in the Pro Utility class at
the third annual GBC Heartland Challenge Presented
by SAFRS, while GBC backed, Team Nobodys, took the
Open UTV class win, with several other GBC supported
teams making the podium in their respective classes.

The newest tire from GBC received a good response,
but for this year, it was the Grim Reaper tires
that put Zachary Zakowski, Scott Kilby and Kevin
Trantham of the Zakowski Motorsports team on top
of the Pro Utility podium. The team completed
an amazing 35 laps with a time of 10:07:16, which
also earned them seventh overall. “Our GBC
Grim Reaper tires hooked up well and were durable
enough to last for the entire 10 hours and never
gave us a problem,” stated Zac Zakowski.
Also in the Pro Utility class, FD Racing put
in a strong effort with 30 laps completed in 09:59:48,
which gave the team the number three spot on the
Pro Utility podium.
In the Open 4x4 class, Team FBI Racing took the
win aboard their Can-Am Renegade running GBC Tires,
while Team Exit would take the third spot on the
Pro class podium and Team Gold Diggers claimed
a solid third in the Pro-am class.
In the 40+ class, it was Team Rekluse who would
put GBC Tires on top of the podium as they completed
an intense 31 laps in a time of 10:00:12, which
would also put them in the top twenty overall
out of almost 60 teams.
In the UTV classes, it was Team Nobodys, consisting
of Ed Atwell, and Bill Hallenbeck that would take
the win in the Open UTV class with the help of
their GBC Tires. The team threw down some very
impressive lap times, completing 31 laps in 04:04:24,
which would not only put them on top of the Open
UTV podium, but also give them second overall
out of all of the UTV classes.
GBC Tires would like to congratulate all of the
teams who took part in this unique event and are
extremely proud of their performances while using
GBC Tires. GBC Tires is excited about its new
products and is looking forward to its racers
being on the podium again at next year’s
event.
