Dirt Track Rules Update & Website Announced
Columbus, Ohio (3/23/2010) -
The 2010 AMA Racing ATV Extreme Dirt Track Championship
Series is gearing up for what will become the
most exciting season in EDT history. From new
tracks and locations to soon to be released sponsors,
the new EDT Board is working hard to ensure a
fun and exciting season for you and the family.
Your EDT Board is proud to announce the release
of its very own website www.edtracing.com.
The website is designed to keep you current on
the series schedule, tracks and locations, points,
and other important news. Take a minute to explore
the website and give us your feedback.
The 2010
Rules and Regulations are now available on
the AMA
website. It is important that you review the
rules to prepare for the upcoming season. The
majority of rules are the same as 2009, however,
there were a few changes which are highlighted
below:
Pro Class: To be eligible to
race in the Pro class, a rider must have finished
in the top 33%, (Excluding Pro riders that raced
in Pro Lites or Pro/Am class) in a minimum of
three Pro Lites or Pro/Am meets at an AMA Racing
ATV Extreme Dirt Track National, within the last
12-month period.
If a past pro ATV Extreme Dirt Track Series participant
chooses to enter the pro class, at any of the
Extreme Dirt Track scheduled events it must be
approved by AMA Racing and the Series Referee.
Maximum machine width has been increased from
50” to 51”.
At the Referee’s discretion the number
of laps for Heats and Mains may be changed if
track or weather conditions warrant.
Classes with 6 or less riders may be combined
with a 2nd class. Race will have one (1) start
with fastest class starting on Row 1 and slower
class starting on Row 2.
Unless a catastrophic event occurs no race may
be canceled after noon on Wednesday of the week
prior to the event and only in consultation with
the Promoter Group, Referee and AMA Track Racing
Manager. If inclement weather on Saturday forces
a delay no race may be canceled before 8:00 AM
on Sunday morning.
The 2010 season will kick off on May 8th in Burnsville,
NC at Robbins Ridge Motorsports Park and conclude
with the return of Wayne County Speedway in Orville,
Ohio. Announcements will be made prior to each
round with a better detailed weekend format so
continue to check the EDT Racing website for more
information.
