Vista, CA (6/15/2011) - This
last weekend was WORCS Round 5 in Payette, Idaho
at Clay Peak Motorcross Track. I was very excited
to have WORCS come to Idaho because the track
is a very fun GP style course with lots of elevation
changes, sand, off cambers and it is close to
home for my family and I. Unfortunately this last
season, I have not been able to attend as planned,
due to financial reasons, so I have not been doing
as much racing this season. Though with the lack
of riding, I was determined to go out and have
fun and still be competitive and represent.
Last year’s season I ended it pretty well
so I pre-registered this year for Women’s
A and for the 15-29 Sport B because we thought
that we might be running this year’s season.
Friday’s practice went well for me. My
quad was running awesome and my Fox Shocks were
dialed in quickly. My energy level felt good and
I was ready for my first debut race in the Women’s
A ranks..
Saturday morning I ran one lap on the Unclassified
race and was excited about the track layout. Later
that afternoon, I geared up to race in my first
Women’s Pro race! I had some tough competitors,
like MCR’s Julie Russell. She’s tough
competition and what better way to learn than
from the WORCS fastest Women. The gates dropped
and I was 3rd up the hill.
For the first time ever racing, I actually felt
a bit unpowered. I battled it out the whole time
and snagged a 3rd place. The track was absolutely
brutal and whooped out. We also fell victim to
a heat wave that I was not acclimated for yet,
so it zapped my endurance and suffered some arm
pump.

Feeling sore the next morning, I was the second
race of the day, racing in the 15-29 sport B class.
I had a pretty full gate and some fast people
to contend with. I had a decent start and tried
my best to keep up with the pack. In the end,
I took 10th place. Not riding for 7 months really
killed my endurance, so my body was struggling
to stay on the last bit of the race. I hope to
be riding a lot more now that summer is approaching.
Such an awesome experience and I now know I have
what it takes to also be one of the top Women
on the West Coast .
I would like to thank my parents for getting
me to this race. My dad worked really hard to
get the Quad prepped last minute so that I could
go out and have a good time and be competitive
and represent.
I would like to thank my 2011 sponsors;
HMF, Fly Racing ,Fox Shocks, DWT tires, ODI grips,
Maxima Oils, Scott USA, BRM off-road , Team Industries,
Cylinder Works, QJ’s Imaging and Go Pro
.
