DWT's Chris Borich
wins the GNCC Season Opener and extends
his win streak to 9 straight races
|
Vista, CA (3/4/2010) - DWT racers
claimed eight podium positions, including five wins
this past weekend at the GNCC 2010 season opener
and at round two of the WORCS series with Chris
Borich taking the GNCC pro win and Josh Frederick
topping the podium at WORCS.
In round one of the GNCC, Suzuki mounted Chris
Borich picked up right where he left off last
season: on top of the box. “The track always
gets rough in Florida, and I was ready for it.
I just tried to ride smart and pace myself,”
said Borich, who would make his charge to the
front in the final two laps, taking the lead in
the final lap and holding off the competition
to take the win. “This was a great way to
start the season and build momentum. I want to
win as many rounds as I can for my sponsors so
I can give them another championship,” concluded
Borich.

DWT's Lexie Coulter
claims her 1st Overall GNCC Win
|
DWT racer Adam McGill joined Chris Borich on
the podium in third and is also looking forward
to a successful season in 2010. “I have
a new team and some new sponsors and I really
have to thank everyone who is supporting me this
season,” McGill stated.
McGill’s teammate Chris Bithell also faired
quite well at round one of the 2010 GNCC. Bithell
made a hard charge right along with McGill. The
pair was tire to tire for a good part of the race,
with Bithell finishing in a respectable fourth
place.
One of the most exciting wins of the GNCC season
opener came from Women’s class racer Lexie
Coulter, who not only took her class win, but
would take her first ever overall win to top the
podium in the morning classes. “I was hoping
for a good race, but I had no idea I was going
to take the overall. It feels really great to
start the season off with a win. It’s a
real confidence booster!” exclaimed Coulter.

DWT's Josh Frederick
Wins WORCS Round 2 & moves into a
tie for the Pro ATV Points lead
|
In round two of the 2010 WORCS series, DWT /
Motoworks racers swept the top six in the Pro
ATV class. Can-Am Motoworks’ Josh Frederick
would take the win and even things up to tie for
the points lead. “I had a good weekend.
I paced myself and rode smart and it really paid
off,” said Frederick. Frederick’s
teammate, Dillon Zimmerman, who grabbed the pro
holeshot on his DWT wheels, claimed the number
five spot.
The MCR team, who is running DWT wheels for the
2010 WORCS season had much success. MCR’s
Beau Baron and Josh Row would respectively take
second and third on the podium in the Pro ATV
class and team manager, Mike Cafro, would take
sixth. David Haagsma went on to take the Pro-am
Production class win, and points lead, using DWT
wheels and Julie Russell also would take over
the points lead as she claimed the victory in
the Women’s A class.
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson also came on strong
for round two of the WORCS series to take fourth
place. Nelson will also be representing DWT in
the 2010 ITP Quadcross series, which gets underway
on March 14th at Glen Helen.
