Takes Seventh at Rock Run GNCC

Casar, NC (6/7/2011) - With yet
another round of the 2011 season down the DeRisi
Racing team is working harder than ever to put together
solid races. Heading to the newly added Rock Run
event, the team was geared up for the new location.
“The bad luck in Indiana hasn’t really
affected the team” commented Santo DeRisi,
Owner of DeRisi Racing Inc. “we are confident
in our program and are looking forward to the weekend
ahead.”
Eric Hoyland entered the woods in the top five
of the XC2 class; choosing good lines and capitalizing
on some early race mistakes would move him into
the second place position. He was able to keep
his momentum and hang onto the second place spot
throughout the day. In the last lap Eric unfortunately
would get stuck behind a lapped rider in the large
mud section. Eric reacted quickly by trying to
physically move his quad around the stuck rider
when a group of XC2 riders passed him, pushing
him back to seventh. Although Eric pushed forward
to gain back the lost positions, the damage had
been done. Eric would take the checkered flag
in seventh place.
David Reeves would be the only DeRisi Racing
rider to compete in the Junior A class; Luke was
injured at a local event nearly a month ago which
left him with a broken leg. “I am saddened
that Luke was injured so badly” commented
DeRisi “he is a significant part of our
team and we look forward to his speedy recovery
and return to GNCC racing.” David would
get a good jump when the green flag flew; he entered
the woods in the top five. After getting stuck
in a large bottleneck David was able to capitalize
and grab the early lead, where he would stay for
the remainder of the afternoon. He would grab
his second win of the season which placed him
third in the Junior A point’s standings.

always a good time and we are looking forward
