DeRisi Racing's Steele Creek
GNCC ATV Race Report
Can-Am
GNCC ATV Racing - Round 3 - Steele Creek - March
26, 2011
Casar, NC (3/31/2011) - Three
rounds are down in the 2011 GNCC schedule and
the DeRisi Racing crew is happy with the great
start they have had to their season. “I
can’t believe three rounds are already finished,
we did have a few setbacks but all in all I can’t
be happier with the team’s performance”
said Santo DeRisi, Owner of DeRisi Racing Inc.
All three DeRisi riders had impressive races
this past weekend at Round three of the GNCC Series.
XC2 ProAm competitor Eric Hoyland jumped off to
a great start. After four laps of racing, Eric’s
pace kept him pushing forward and kept him ahead
of many of his competitors. Heading into the last
lap he was in the second place position behind
competitor Walker Fowler. During that lap Hoyland
would drop back to third place within a few miles
of the finish line. “The Steele Creek track
was tough but it was not unbearable; I cannot
say enough about the suspension setup Santo has
me running right now” said Hoyland “each
race it seems like it gets better and better.”
In addition to a strong XC2 ProAm finish, DeRisi
rider David Reeves of the Junior A 22+ class was
able to have an extremely impressive race. After
a good start David was able to capitalize at the
end of the day to take home his first win of the
2011 season. Not only did he win but he also secured
the top amateur overall for the event. “David
truly rode awesome this past weekend. I knew he
had it in him and I can only see this happening
as we continue to push through the season”
said DeRisi.
The good fortune of the weekend did not stop there;
fellow Junior A 22+ competitor Luke Reeves had
some success of his own. Grabbing the holeshot
and leading the race early allowed Luke to push
forward and run with the top riders. Luke would
make great decisions and put in a great ride which
landed him a third place finish, a mere minute
behind his teammate and the second place finisher.
“It was a good day” said Reeves “I
pushed all day and focused on not making any mistakes
and it paid off.”
“As it stands right now all of my primary
riders are in the top five in the points within
their classes and I could not be happier with
that. I also want to take a moment to mention
the great ride College A racer Braden Henthorn
had this past weekend. He is definitely going
to be a contender in the College A class this
year and someone I am looking forward to continuing
a partnership with.” said DeRisi. “As
always I am so thankful for the support of the
following companies; Rath Racing, Fox Shox, GBC
Tires, IMS Products, HMF, HiPer Technology, Power
Bar, GPR, Fasst Co, DC Cycle, Wiseco, Maier, Twin
Air, DP Brakes, G4 Graphics, PowerMadd, Motion
Pro, Quad Tech, Albright Motorsports, Spider Grips,
Silkolene, Hilltop Motorsports, Fly Racing, Scott
Goggles and Liquid Performance.
