ATVA Approves Cobra ECX50 ATV for Competition
Pickerington, OH
(3/7/2006) – The ECX50
ATV built by Cobra Moto has been approved for competition
in ATVA/AMA-sanctioned events, the ATVA announced today.
Sean Hilbert, president of Cobra, said the approval
will clear the way for customers to begin racing the
new ATV as early as this weekend.
“Customer demand for the ECX50 has exceeded
our expectations," said Hilbert. "The entire
staff has been working overtime building ATVs, having
them approved before the March 15 deadline will allow
them to be raced this weekend at the ATVA National Motocross
Championships in Gainesville, Florida.”
AMA Congress created two new 50cc ATV classes last
year: the 50cc Stock Class #1, for 4- to 8-year-olds,
and 50cc Stock Class #2, for 6- to 8-year-olds. The
ECX50 has been approved for Stock Class #2.
If you race ATVA Nationals, see the supplemental rules.
The EXC50 has also been approved for class #30 50 Production
