                                California (5/27/2009) - Team Christy/Duncan
Racing continued their perfect season in Best in
the Desert and Score desert racing, winning the
second race of the BITD Series in Parker, Arizona.
The Bluewater GP is an 8 lap race around an 11 mile
loop in the desert terrain surrounding the Bluewater
Casino and Resort. Temperatures hit 105 degrees
at race time, making rider endurance and conditioning
                              vital to a good result.
 Christy Racing Continues Winning
Streak at BITD Blue Water GP Team riders Craig Christy and Andy Lagzdins bested
the heat and the competition to emerge victorious
on their Duncan/Elka/Roll Design equipped Honda
TRX450R. Lagzdins began the race, which was started
in the parking lot of the casino, and worked his
way into the lead by the second lap. Most teams switched riders every two laps to
keep from wearing down too much in the blistering
heat. Lagzdins used his many years of GNCC and
OMA cross country racing experience to reel in
the competition and open up a sizable lead on
the shortest and tightest track of the BITD series.
Craig Christy took over the reigns and kept the
lead through the rest of the event, using his
knowledge of the race course and the superior
handling of the ITP Holeshot-equipped machine.
Craig bought the quad home to the finish, securing
the race win and the series points lead in the
Quad Expert division. The course contained many unique obstacles, and
at one point riders went through a vacant building.
Also included in the track layout was a challenging
water crossing and, of course, miles of sand whoops.
Riders and spectators were treated to the cool
mountain waters of the Colorado River, which flowed
alongside of the pit straightaway. Almost everyone at the event cooled themselves
in the water after the race. The next race on
the BITD schedule is the legendary Vegas to Reno,
which will be a 1000 mile, 3-day stage race this
year, which takes place at the end of August.
