Powerbar's
#399 Rick Cecco
|
Shermansdale, PA (4/30/2010)
- Cecco Racing’s Rick Cecco battled the
elements at round number five of the 2010 GNCC
series to take a solid second in the 4x4 Open
class.
Cecco came off the line out front, but things
got tricky going into the woods and Cecco would
find himself in third in the first lap due to
the wet and muddy conditions.
Thick mud and bottlenecks were plentiful at
Loretta Lynn’s, so Cecco took his time
and rode smart in the first lap. In lap three,
he was able to take over second place when Daryl
Rath would fall back.

In the final lap, Cecco was catching class
leader Bryan Buckhannon, but was stuck in traffic
and could not get around in the slick conditions
to close the gap. “I could see Buckhannon
up ahead, but I just couldn’t get around
to go after him,” Cecco explained. Despite
his best efforts, Cecco would be left to finish
second in his class. “It was really a
mess out there, so I am content with second,
but I want to take back the points lead, so
I am really going to be trying for the win at
North Carolina,” stated Cecco.
At round four, Rick Cecco was absent, but for
very good reason, as he and his fiancé,
Deni welcomed their first child into the world.
The bouncing baby boy, named Kane, was born
on April 11th and weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and
measured 19 inches long. “Having a child
is truly an amazing experience and I couldn’t
be happier,” said the proud new father
who also reports that mom and baby are doing
very well.
Round number six of the 2010 GNCC series will
head to North Carolina on May 8th for the Yadkin
Valley stomp, where Rick Cecco will be racing
for the win and the points lead.
